Treat Infections With Generic Flagyl. Part 3

Patients undergoing Dusulfarm treatment should avoid Metronidazole, because being combined these medicines can cause psychotic symptoms, paranoia and hallucinations. Therefore, a patient should turn to Flagyl at least 14 days after Disulfram therapy has been discontinued and vice versa.

Some common adverse reactions include headache, sickness, vomiting, abdominal cramps, pain in the stomach, discomfort in the epigastric area (caused by sensations of fullness in the gullet or throat), diarrhea, constipation, rash, hives, dry mouth, unpleasant taste, dryness in vagina, pelvic pressure, or incontinence.  See your physician immediately if any of these reactions aggravate or persist.  Flagyl will hardly cause extreme allergic responses, however it can provoke common reactions, such as eruptions, itching, severe giddiness, swelling, or rough breathing.

In single cases serious adverse effects may occur after the long-lasting use of Flagyl. Among them can be peripheral neuropathy (tingling or numbness of feet or hands), seizures, changes in mood, white patchers in the mouth, painful urination, a vaginal yeast infection, sore throat, abnormal bleeding or bruising, fever. If you experience any of these conditions, then immediately contact your physician so that he could give you further directions.  Fortunately, most patents taking Flagyl have extreme side effects in exceptionally rare cases.

Expectant or lactating mothers as well as women who are planning a pregnancy should ask for doctor’s advice before resorting to Flagyl.  If a pregnant woman is affected with Trichomoniasis, she should avoid using Flafyl during the first three months of gestation, even if other medicines can’t help. This can be explained by the fact that Flagyl can abnormally increase the level of serum that can have an adverse impact on the circulation in the unborn baby.  Dosage of this medicine for women and men with Trichomoniasis depends on the nature of the problem.

Metronidazole can decrease the effectiveness of birth-pills and contraceptive patches, therefore to prevent the risk of unwanted pregnancy an extra contraceptive method should be applied during Flagyl treatmnet and for a week after the therapy has been discontinued. For any further information it is better to talk to a gynecologist or physician.

Flagyl tablets should be stored at the temperature not higher than 25 °C, protected from heat, moisture and light, and kept out of the reach of the children and pets.
